The idea for a vacuum cleaner with modern technology was born in 1910 in Stockholm, in the mind of Axel Wenner-Gren. It took him two years to develop it. In 1912, the first domestic vacuum cleaner was born. It was a true revolution for society and for all the households that adopted it.
To cope with its success, the LUX company then merged with ELECTROMECANISKA, and from this union, a new brand was born: ELECTROLUX. 55 years later, in 1974, ELECTROLUX was the world's number one vacuum cleaner manufacturer and a leader in many other household appliances. In 1992, the LUX direct sales network reverted to its original name.
At the end of 2000, LUX launched an unprecedented development plan and became a fully independent company, no longer part of the ELECTROLUX Group.
